Facility: Services

Learn about setting up Facility Services in Time To Pet.

In Facility, a Main Service is any activity you provide for your clients. An example would be “Daycare - Full Day” or “Boarding.” All scheduled appointments/events are linked to one or more services.

Services are the core bookings you offer at your facility (for example: Daycare – Full Day, Boarding – Standard). Every scheduled event in Facility uses a Main Service.

A quick reminder about Services and Spaces:
Services = what you sell
Spaces = where pets go (runs/rooms)
If you’re naming something like “Run A1,” that’s usually a Space, not a Service.

Accessing Services Page

  1. To access the Services section of your Facility account, log in to your Admin Dashboard.

  2. Using the sidebar navigation menu on the left-hand side of the page, click on Services & Spaces, and then on Services from the submenu that opens up.

Creating A New Service

  1. To create new service for your Facility, select the + New Service button on the Main Services tab of the Services section of your account.

  2. A new page will open, asking you to select the type of service you would like to create - Boarding, Daycare, and Grooming. Click on the service type you're looking to create.

    Note: Currently, only Boarding and Daycare services are available to create right now, but check back for our additional grooming options that are coming soon!

  3. On the next screen, you'll be asked to enter service details, set up pickup and drop-off times, and configure service rates.

  4. Once you've finished entering these details and have your service set up the way you want it, be sure to click the Save Changes button.

  5. After doing so, you will be taken back to your main service list. Your new service will be added to the end of the list by default. To adjust the order in which services appear, see our guide on Re-Ordering Services.

Configuring A Service

Service Name: The name of the service. Use a short, client-friendly name.
Examples:
Daycare – Full Day
Boarding – Standard
Grooming – Full Groom

Service Type: The options available here are Daycare and Boarding.

Daycare (Same Day): billed per scheduled day/event
Boarding (Overnight): billed per night

Example: A boarding from Nov 3 → Nov 7 is 4 nights (Nov 3, 4, 5, 6). The checkout day (Nov 7) is not billed.

Client Can Request?: Turn this ON if you want clients to request this service in the Client Portal/App. Turn it OFF if it’s admin-only.

Description: Use this to set expectations (hours, what to bring, vaccination requirements, pickup timing, etc.) This is visible to the client in their Client App or Client Portal.

Private Note: Internal notes that clients will not see.

Color: Adjust the color of this service displayed on your Scheduler. Set the default display (Color By Staff, Color By Status, or Color By Service) for the Scheduler in Company Settings - Scheduler.

Auto Reminder: Activating this setting will automatically create a scheduled message to remind the client they have an upcoming service. This message can be customized in Company Settings > Messaging.

Drop-Off And Pickup Times

Drop-Off and Pickup times let clients choose their expected arrival and departure when requesting this service.

These times will be displayed to clients to select their Drop-Off and Pickup times when clients are requesting new services:

There is no limit to the Drop-Off and Pickup windows you can create. An additional rate can also be set for these time windows. For example, for the 6:00 AM-7:00 AM Drop-Off window, there can be an additional rate of $5 to act as an "early drop-off fee," or if choosing a Pickup window from 7:00 PM-8:00 PM, there is an additional fee of $15 for a "full day of daycare."

Setting The Service Rates

You can have varying rates based on the number of pets scheduled for each service type.

Daycare Rates: Rates will be generated based on the number of events scheduled.

Boarding Rates: Boarding Rates are generated per night. For example, if a Boarding is scheduled from November 3rd to November 7th, the last day will not incur a charge for this service.

Taxable: Whether or not this service should be taxed in your area.

Time To Pet can automatically determine the Rate for additional pets by clicking the "Apply Full Price For All Pets," which will generate a rate based on the cost for the first pet.

Updating An Existing Service

To update a service, navigate to the Services List. In the Main Services tab, find the relevant service in the list. Click the “Edit” button for that item. The same form for creating a service will be used, but your existing service's details will automatically be populated. Make sure to click the “Save Changes” button to finalize your changes.

Disabling An Existing Main Service

Disabling removes the service from client selection and prevents new scheduling for that service. Existing scheduled events are not affected and reporting around this service will still be available.

To disable a service, navigate to your Main Services tab and locate the service you would like to disable. On this same screen, click the drop-down arrow to the right of the "Edit" button. There, the option to "Disable" the service will appear. Similarly, if you need to re-enable a service, you can scroll down on the Main Services List to the Disabled Services section and select the drop-down menu again, this time selecting "Enable."

Re-Ordering Services

The display order of services can easily be modified by dragging and dropping the services to their desired location. Time To Pet also supports the ability to "Group" similar services. Please review our help article on Grouping Services for more information.
